On the work

Slow looking

A central Toranj cartouche outlined in sage green and coral tones rests at the heart of a circular garden composition, set against a dark blue-black paper ground. Two concentric rings of foliage radiate from the central seed motif: an inner spiral of rich lapis blue foliate fronds and an outer wreath of fine gold leaf illumination leaves that frame the entire rosette.

Rendered in acrylic and gold leaf on dark paper, the surface combines saturated mineral blues with warm metallic highlights and subtle earth-toned accents. The acrylic paint provides crisp coverage across the dark background, establishing a vivid foundation for the spiraling blue leaves and delicate gold linework.

The compositional logic balances central stability with layered outward growth. The central green-and-coral Toranj provides a firm sanctuary heart, while the surrounding lapis blue fronds sweep in a dynamic clockwise wave, contained within the outer gold leaf border to embody natural cycles of containment, flourishing, and rebirth.

In ambient room light, the outer gold wreath catches warm reflections while the inner lapis ring and dark paper absorb light, creating a distinct three-dimensional depth between the luminous perimeter and the deep central layers.

At 45 × 45 cm, Earth offers a grounded, harmonious presence. Installed alongside Sun and Moon to complete the celestial trilogy or presented as a standalone work, its balanced blue, green, and gold palette brings enduring calm to any collection space.
